A Letter From St. Cloud OUT: 2009 GLBTA Film Festival May Be Cancelled

Dear Friends,

St Cloud OUT must announce that the 2008 St Cloud GLBTA Film Festival may have been the last. It is with much sadness that St. Cloud OUT must explore the option of not holding the 2009 GLBTA Film Festival. Over the last two years, St. Cloud OUT has desperately looked for new volunteers willing to come aboard and execute this project. Unfortunately we have not had much luck with recruitment of volunteers to take a leadership role. Many of the Film Festival planners have been working on the festival for the last 4-7 years and new leadership and vision is needed to continually enhance the Film Festival. We will decide at the January 8th St. Cloud OUT meeting whether the film festival will be held or not. The determination will be based on recruitment of a new Film Festival Team. Without new volunteers, the reality is there will not be a 2009 GLBTA Film Festival. Please plan on attending this meeting if you would like to see the film festival continue. Past Film Festival Committee members will serve as mentors for the new team and strive to ensure success of future film festivals. Please contact the St. Cloud GLBTA Film Fest Committee at filmfest@stcloudout.org with any questions or if you will be unable to attend the meeting in January. St. Cloud OUT meets at the St. Cloud Public Library at 7:00 pm the second Thursday of the month. Again, please plan on attending the January 8th meeting.
